Dennis Richardson, President - Dennis is a chemical engineer and part owner of Thermco Instrument Corporation. Growing up next to what is now the Springfield Fen State Nature Preserve, Dennis has had a lifelong interest in the environment. He has participated in many local environmental activities, including compiler for the Northeast LaPorte County Christmas Bird Count.

Robert Boklund, Vice-President - Bob has been dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for the citizens of LaPorte County and involved in numerous local environmental efforts for more than three decades. He has a passionate and committed interest in saving natural and historic resources and holds degrees in Horticultural Genetics and Environmental Biology.

Elizabeth McCloskey, Secretary - Liz is a wildlife biologist with 30 years experience with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Liz works on Federal projects and endangered species issues which cover 18 counties in northern Indiana. She also worked for several years for the Indiana Division of Nature Preserves, including land management work at Preserves in LaPorte County.

James E. Simon, Treasurer - Jim has a diverse education background, studying agriculture, physical education, and biology in college. Jim worked for YMCA for 20 years, then spent 17 years with Sullair Corporation. He now serves on boards of conservation, education, history, senior citizen, and nature organizations.

Don Bowman - American Society of Landscape Architects, Emeritus. Don is a landscape architect and former owner of a private residential, commercial and park planning practice. Retired from the FAA Nationwide Environmental Planning of Airports.

Steve Barker - Steve has over 10 years of professional experience in the field of natural areas restoration and management, as well as multi agency experience in prescribed and wildland fires. He is currently the Director of the Coffee Creek Watershed Conservancy, Inc., Project Manager for JFNew, and board member for Save the Dunes Council. He is also a 1994 LaPorte High School graduate.

Jan Baumer - Jan is a longtime resident of LaPorte County and a contributor to the education of LaPorte County citizens as a librarian for more than 20 years. Jan has an avid interest in local plant and wildlife ecology and documents her outdoor experiences through photography.

John Pflum and his wife, Mary Jo have lived in LaPorte for 21 years. They have three grown daughters. John has been employed at the NIPSCO Training Center in LaPorte for 25 years. He has served on the LaPorte County Park Board and the Park Foundation Board and is a past president of the Potawatomi Audubon Chapter.

Marcia Alexander has lived in LaPorte County her entire life. She and her husband, Gary, share a love of nature and enjoy many outdoor activities. Marcia taught at Lincoln Elementary School in LaPorte for 26 years and is presently the principal at Kingsford Heights Elementary School. Throughout her years in education, she has tried to instill a respect for the environment in her students, as well as an appreciation of the beauty of our natural world.
